AEGEE
AEGEE ('Association des Etats Généraux des EtudiantsdeL’Europe') is a Panaeuropean student association which played an important role in many aspects of my life!
With AEGEE I learnt how to become proficient on computers (ah who forgets the Classic Mac 2 in the Milan office), using internet (e.mail, mailing lists, lotus notes, etc in the 90's), organize an agenda, working teams, small and big events (including a 800 people participants event in Barcelona in '99), also shaping first steps of my professional experiences (through an internship in Barcelona, working experience in the European board in Brussels, etc).It helped me naturally learning languages, travelling and establish solid international friendships as well as meeting my future wife Saltanat (she was not a member but she was hanging around with the local members in Budapest, where we met:)
During my active times in AEGEE (1995-2000), I have covered different roles at local level (Vicepresident & President of Milan branch "Antenna" in 1996-1997), member of the European Board (1997, as "Network Manager" in charge of contacts with European Universities, press, as well as European foundations and Institutions) and various European projects and commissions.

ALUMNI
As those University times become quite far away in time, nowadays I am a proud member of ALUMNI organization of AEGEE, "Les Anciens".
While through this group we are able to maintan ties with (old) friends across Europe who used to be active through different generations of the student forum (those from 1985 to younger ones who left their student activities in the past years), the Alumni group is a useful platform also for professional interaction.
Many of the old members of AEGEE have had a brilliant career, whether in public institutions (EU, UN, etc) or in various private sectors.
As we organize several meetings per year, we keep up the links between the alumni and support the active generation of students and discuss European, professional and private matters.
